A week at the ranch

Last week I took the kids and went to my moms. Spanish Fork was getting too hot (not compared to St. George or Vegas). The kids only would go outside after 7 or if we were at the pool. July at the ranch is very nice. Yes it was hot but not too hot to play outside, every afternoon we would get large dark clouds. Tytan would always comment how he like the “shade”. The kids spent most of their time riding 4-wheelers, fishing, jumping on the trampoline, and exploring. My nephew Daniel made the trip even better. He sure kept the boys entertained.

This is how my brother Doug hangs out with his little girl (8 months old). He had my Tytan and his Gracie on the 4- wheeler for over an hour riding around checking out his cows. He said she loved every minute of it.

Aspen’s favorite thing was to play with Doug’s dog Shady. He was a great dog to let her bug him all day. He would get tired of it and move about 5 feet and Aspen would just follow him and he would tolerate her for a few minutes then move again.

My Sisters are awesome. Kathy and Tracee took the boys fishing. I gave the boys nets to fish with while they were up there. They didn’t have much luck; needless to say I am not a fisherwoman. My sister Tracee is and she helped the boys catch these fish the real way -with a fishing pole and worms (they had so much fun eventhough the fish were small). Grandma and Grandpa cleaned them up and cooked them. (The dogs actually ate them – fish from Butler are only good in the early spring)

Daniel found a small trap and decided it would be fun to catch a chipmunk. The first few times he set the trap the Chipmunk got away with the treat. He kept working on it and finally fixed the trap up to actually trap a chipmunk. My kids thought that was the coolest thing ever. We took the chipmunk on a little 4-wheeler ride and let him go.
